  今天我國(guó)旗下的講話題目是“仰望星空與腳踏實(shí)地”。

  20xx年xx月6日,我們十六位老師受學(xué)校委派前往xx,實(shí)地探訪傳說(shuō)中的xx中學(xué)。這所神話般的學(xué)校,中外聞名。

  在xx中學(xué)只有短短的一天時(shí)間考察學(xué)習(xí),但是我受益匪淺。他們的教育教學(xué)理念,他們的校紀(jì)校風(fēng),以及20xx年神話般的119個(gè)清華北大錄取人數(shù),都令我驚嘆不已。在此我想與各位老師同學(xué)分享我的所見(jiàn)所感。

  以前翻看xx中學(xué)的資料,感覺(jué)這里的學(xué)生像囚犯似的。但是走進(jìn)xx中學(xué),沿途的長(zhǎng)廊上整齊排列著往屆考入清華北大的優(yōu)秀學(xué)子的照片,十分震撼人心;教室里每一張課桌的右上角,都貼著學(xué)生書(shū)寫(xiě)的目標(biāo)和座右銘,字里行間無(wú)不洋溢著xx中學(xué)學(xué)生追求卓越的人生信念。經(jīng)過(guò)親自參加學(xué)習(xí),走近學(xué)生之后,我才真正認(rèn)識(shí)到這個(gè)幾乎與世隔絕的地方并不是傳說(shuō)中的“監(jiān)獄”,而是以苦為樂(lè)的精神特區(qū)。xx中學(xué)的學(xué)生和老師在高考誓師大會(huì)上的群情激昂并不是形式口號(hào),而是發(fā)自?xún)?nèi)心的誠(chéng)摯吶喊和對(duì)目標(biāo)義無(wú)反顧的執(zhí)著追求。此刻才明白,心若是牢籠,處處為牢籠,自由不在外面,而在于內(nèi)心。如果心中閃耀著整片星空,身在何處又有何妨呢?

  但是僅僅心有猛虎是不夠的,xx的學(xué)子更注重腳踏實(shí)地。每學(xué)期800篇英語(yǔ)閱讀篇章訓(xùn)練,每節(jié)40分鐘的英語(yǔ)學(xué)科自習(xí)必須完成除聽(tīng)力作文以外的其他所有內(nèi)容,高三學(xué)生每天三十張?jiān)嚲砝状虿粍?dòng)。同學(xué)們,他們并沒(méi)有哆啦A夢(mèng)的時(shí)光機(jī)器,有的只是爭(zhēng)分奪秒,與日月賽跑的'決心;他們并沒(méi)有超人的頭腦,有的只是穩(wěn)扎穩(wěn)打落實(shí)每一個(gè)知識(shí)點(diǎn)的細(xì)心;他們并沒(méi)有奧特曼的金剛不壞之軀,有的只是日復(fù)一日,年復(fù)一年晨跑的恒心。如果這些還不夠,那么令嚴(yán)謹(jǐn)認(rèn)真的英國(guó)人都感到汗顏的xx中學(xué)手寫(xiě)印刷體就是他們腳踏實(shí)地學(xué)風(fēng)的又一個(gè)完美體現(xiàn)。正是仰望星空與腳踏實(shí)地的完美結(jié)合造就了xx中學(xué)的神話。

  xx學(xué)生內(nèi)心深處有一種神圣的責(zé)任感和榮譽(yù)感,有著新世紀(jì)中學(xué)生所特有的追求精神和危機(jī)意識(shí)。校服印著“追求卓越”的校訓(xùn)。熱情澎湃,斗志昂揚(yáng)。xx高三年級(jí)主任在報(bào)告中說(shuō)到:xx圍繞“激情+拼搏”,打造卓越的校園,打造卓越的課堂,打造卓越的學(xué)生。

  Thank you very much!非常感謝!在接下來(lái)的時(shí)間里,我將和大家一起分享一下學(xué)英語(yǔ)的苦辣酸甜。最主要的,是想通過(guò)我在北大六年教學(xué)經(jīng)歷、美國(guó)六年生活經(jīng)歷、“新東方”六年教學(xué)經(jīng)歷,來(lái)和大家交流一下怎能樣盡快的提高大家的listeing and speaking comprehensions.

  我的經(jīng)歷具體是這樣的:我是1980年從內(nèi)蒙古考到北大的,比大家高了好多屆。我在北大學(xué)英文,然后又在北大教書(shū)。教書(shū)六年之后,在1990年,我求學(xué)到美國(guó)。我發(fā)現(xiàn)到了,美國(guó)一下飛機(jī),我一句話也聽(tīng)不懂。當(dāng)時(shí)我想,至少我學(xué)了幾年英文,所以打算繼續(xù)學(xué)英文。正在我在考慮到哪里去的時(shí)候,我聽(tīng)到一種說(shuō)法,叫做everybody in American can speak English。那么我又怎么能夠在美國(guó)賺錢(qián)呢?所以,我必須改變這個(gè)想法。于是我該學(xué)了學(xué)計(jì)算機(jī)。計(jì)算機(jī)碩士畢業(yè)以后,我在美國(guó)的貝爾實(shí)驗(yàn)室做了兩年的軟件工程師。在1995年,“新東方”的創(chuàng)始人俞敏洪來(lái)到了美國(guó),在他的建議下,我有回國(guó),開(kāi)始參加“新東方”的創(chuàng)建。我和俞敏洪在北大是同班同學(xué)——“新東方”的五個(gè)“創(chuàng)業(yè)元老”里有三個(gè)是北大的同學(xué)。除了我們兩個(gè)還有一個(gè)是“新東方”的圖書(shū)總策劃包凡一老師,他是“新東方”的寫(xiě)作專(zhuān)家。我在大學(xué)時(shí)代是他們的班長(zhǎng),他們兩個(gè)當(dāng)時(shí)是全班最落后的學(xué)生。我那時(shí)的主要精力和時(shí)間都花在每天晚上陪他們兩個(gè)在湖畔散步,勸

  他們不要跳下去。我告訴他們說(shuō):“你們將來(lái)一定會(huì)成才的。”到了96年,我在新東方擔(dān)任副校長(zhǎng)的時(shí)候,有一個(gè)大學(xué)生就問(wèn)我說(shuō):“王老師,你上大學(xué)時(shí)四年都是他們的班長(zhǎng),你現(xiàn)在卻是他們的副校長(zhǎng),你的心理平衡怎么找?”我說(shuō):“不用找,我現(xiàn)在心理是最平衡的。我當(dāng)初當(dāng)班長(zhǎng)最大的夙愿就是幫助這兩個(gè)后進(jìn)青年成才。今天看到他們已經(jīng)紛紛成才了,我的夙愿已經(jīng)了了。平衡徹底找到了。”——我們的確都要找到一個(gè)平衡的方法,只有心態(tài)平衡下來(lái),你才能夠干成偉大的事業(yè)。

  在美國(guó)的時(shí)候我學(xué)計(jì)算機(jī)之前,還有一段小插曲。那就是我險(xiǎn)些報(bào)考了哈佛的人力學(xué)系。我離開(kāi)北大之后,吸引我的學(xué)校只有兩所,一所是英國(guó)的牛津大學(xué),就是Oxford University;另一所呢就是Harvard University。那時(shí)候,哈佛大學(xué)人力學(xué)系的系主任,對(duì)我進(jìn)行了面試之后覺(jué)得可以錄取我,并且提出可以給我提供五年的Scholarship。他說(shuō):“你只要答應(yīng)我一個(gè)條件,”我說(shuō):“什么條件?”——這個(gè)教授研究的是非常偏的一個(gè)科目,所以招生好多年都沒(méi)有找到一個(gè)合適的學(xué)生。他是在人力學(xué)系研究中國(guó)文化中苗族文化的。——他說(shuō):“只要你跟我學(xué)苗語(yǔ),我就給你獎(jiǎng)學(xué)金!蔽艺f(shuō):“可以!钡,我冷靜下來(lái)之后想:我拿了這些錢(qián),在五年之內(nèi),過(guò)的是天上人間的日子。就算不能從哈佛大學(xué)畢業(yè),也能夠肄業(yè)。將來(lái)至少能夠跟孫子夸口說(shuō),爺爺當(dāng)年進(jìn)過(guò)哈佛。但是這還不行,因?yàn)槲夷玫竭@個(gè)學(xué)位,最終的目的是要找個(gè)飯碗。我就考慮,在北美這樣大片的土地上,有多少地方需要我這樣的人才呢?——苗族文化專(zhuān)家。通過(guò)“研究”,我發(fā)現(xiàn),全北美只有一個(gè)地方需要,就是哈佛大學(xué)、人力學(xué)系、這位老師。所以,如果全北美只有一個(gè)機(jī)會(huì),他的目標(biāo)里只有我一個(gè)人,那么這個(gè)機(jī)會(huì)對(duì)我來(lái)說(shuō)是百分之百的!但是,五年之后,我仍然處于一個(gè)非常劣勢(shì)的地位。我如果能在哈佛大學(xué)拿到學(xué)位,接下來(lái)的夢(mèng)想就是當(dāng)上哈佛大學(xué)的教授、終身教授。美國(guó)大學(xué)關(guān)于終身教授的規(guī)定:只要這個(gè)教授不去世,你就別想替代他。我想,萬(wàn)一我六十歲就“夭折“了,那位教授八十多歲還健在,我也還是助教。想到這兒,我就對(duì)那位教授說(shuō):“I want to learn something different!

  當(dāng)時(shí)是1990年,計(jì)算機(jī)在美國(guó)變得popular。而且招生的指標(biāo)還有70個(gè),我覺(jué)得這是個(gè)attract opportunity,于是決定學(xué)計(jì)算機(jī)。如果學(xué)計(jì)算機(jī),我就可以成為一個(gè)“計(jì)算機(jī)科學(xué)家”,就可以make money。但當(dāng)時(shí),我已經(jīng)十年沒(méi)摸過(guò)數(shù)學(xué)了,計(jì)算機(jī)也從來(lái)沒(méi)有接觸過(guò)。我想,我能不能學(xué)計(jì)算機(jī)呢?我用亞里士多德的“三段論”來(lái)推導(dǎo)這個(gè)問(wèn)題:計(jì)算機(jī)是人發(fā)明的東西,凡是人都應(yīng)該懂人發(fā)明的東西。最后,如果我學(xué)不了計(jì)算機(jī),我就不是人。得出這個(gè)結(jié)論之后,我就要做一些實(shí)際的調(diào)查,看一看計(jì)算機(jī)到底是什么。我到了紐約最大的書(shū)店,看看計(jì)算機(jī)架上到底有些什么書(shū)。其中有兩架書(shū),
